The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance with an Aggravated Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

  • on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at approximately 2:30 a.m. a 24-year-old man was in the Queen Street West and Peter Street area
  • he was walking eastbound on Queen Street West with friends when they were approached by a man wearing an Angry Birds costume
  • the 24-year-old man commented on the costume
  • the man in the Angry Birds costume suddenly turned around and began to assault the 24-year-old man and knocked him to the ground
  • the man in the Angry Birds costume continued to punch and kick the 24-year-old man while he was on the ground
  • the 24-year-old man sustained serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries

The man in the Angry Birds costume is described as approximately 5’10” – 6’0″.

A number of people were in the area at the time of the assault. Police would like to speak with anyone who has any information/video regarding this aggravated assault.
