A 34-year-old Peterborough woman is facing possession of stolen property charges after two attempts were made to use a stolen credit card at a Peterborough convenience store.
On January 2, 2017, the complainant received a phone call from her credit card company stating there was unusual activity on her card. The complainant realized that her wallet had been stolen from her unlocked vehicle overnight. Two attempts were then made to use the stolen credit card at a local convenience store.
Through the investigation, the suspect was identified.
On January 8, 2017, police contacted the accused who attended the police station where she was placed under arrest. The stolen credit card was located on the accused.
As a result of the investigation Connie Desjardins, 34, of Towerhill Road, was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on February 2, 2017.
