UPDATE: Police continue the search for missing 70-year-old Marjorie Lucas and her dog Casey


The search for missing person Marjorie LUCAS age 70 years continues today focusing on the Brighton Bay and Presqu’ile Provincial Park areas.

The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) are working under the direction of the Northumberland Crime Unit on this investigation.

Police are requesting citizens to be on the lookout for Casey and if observed, call police.

Investigators are further requesting that residents in the Brighton area check their properties and outbuildings and report anything suspicious to police.

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing person.

Marjorie LUCAS, 70, of Quinte West has not been seen since March 25th, 2017. LUCAS is described as being 5’6″ tall, 175lbs with a medium build, with grey hair and wears glasses.The female was last seen driving a 2010 brown Chevrolet Malibu with Ontario licence plate MARJ68.

(BRIGHTON, ON) – On March 28, 2017 at approximately 9:00am the missing person’s car was located by a citizen (unoccupied) in the parking lot of a business on Harbour Street in Brighton.

Police and family members remain concerned for the wellbeing of Marjorie who is still missing along with her dog, a 2 year old brown and white Springer Spaniel.

A search of the area has commenced under the direction of the Northumberland Crime Unit. Detachment members assisted by the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit (K9) and OPP Aviation Services (helicopter) are conducting the search beginning in the south part of Brighton near Brighton Bay.

Police would again ask that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Marjorie to call your nearest OPP detachment or the police service in your area.
