On April 17, 2017, the Sarnia Police requested assistance from the public in locating a missing male by the name of Mr. Edward Alway (69 years of age).

On June 14, 2017, the OPP reported locating a deceased person in the St. Clair River near Stag Island. On today’s date, the Sarnia Police Service can confirm that the deceased that was located was indeed Mr. Alway.

Pending any further results from the post-mortem exam there is nothing suspicious regarding his death.

We would like to thank the public for their assistance and offer our sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Alway.


The Sarnia Police Service continues its investigation into locating Edward Always (69 years of age). He was reported missing by his family and was last seen in the early morning hours of April 17, 2017.

Mr. Alway’s red pick-up truck was found parked in the parking lot to the north of the water treatment plant at the mouth of the St. Clair River.

Mr. Always is described as being 5 feet and 7 inches tall, with a thin build and short grey hair. (Photo attached below)

The Sarnia Police Service is concerned for his wellbeing and is again reaching out to the public for their assistance in determining his whereabouts.
