A 42-year-old man was caught driving impaired with his children in the vehicle in north Whitby yesterday.
On Monday, May 15, 2017, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a vehicle reversed into a parked vehicle at the Esso gas station on Winchester Road East in Brooklin. An alert citizen notified police after he suspected the driver was impaired. Police attended the scene and arrested the driver, who later tested as being over three times the legal limit.
During the time of the collision, the impaired driver’s two children, age 10 and 11, were inside the vehicle. The children were unharmed and were placed in the care of their mother.
A 42-year-old male from Ramara Township is charged with Impaired Driving, Care Control Motor Vehicle While Impaired and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
