The Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 20-year-old male in connection to a report of a male being in possession of a handgun in the County of Dufferin Courthouse Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at approximately 11:15 a.m., maintenance staff were working outside of the County of Dufferin Courthouse, located at 10 Louisa Street in Orangeville, when they observed a male with what they believed to be a handgun in the waistband of his pants.
Orangeville police officers within the courthouse were alerted and the male was located and arrested without incident. Police seized a replica handgun (BB gun) from the male.
Jacob Tom Henry Bauer, 20, of Grand Valley, was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of an Imitation Weapon for a Purpose Dangerous to the Public Peace.
The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing regarding the allegations.
