The Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 47-year-old female in connection to an assault complaint involving a student at a local elementary school.

On Friday, April 8, 2017, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a parent contacted the Orangeville Police Service to report that his young son had been assaulted by a teacher while in class at St. Benedict Elementary School.

As a result of the subsequent investigation, by members of the Orangeville Police Criminal Investigation Bureau, assault charges were laid against the classroom teacher.

On Friday, May 12, 2017, Jennifer Lynn Peltier, 47, of Inglewood, was arrested and charged with one count of Assault. The female was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on June 13, 2017 to answer to the allegations.
