(LONDON, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) West Region Criminal Investigation Unit along with members from the St. Thomas and Strathroy-Caradoc Police Services Crime Unit’s has arrested six people in connection to a number of heavy equipment thefts.

The multi-jurisdictional investigation began in January of 2017 after several pieces of heavy equipment were stolen. The joint force investigation has resulted in the recovery of over $220,000 worth of stolen goods which includes 2 skid steers, a mini excavator and a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle (ATV). Investigators are hopeful the recent arrests will help in locating more of the stolen property.

Charged is;

• 49-year-old Reno BRUSH from St. Thomas Ontario
1. 9 x Theft Over $5,000
2. 1 x Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence

• 51-year-old James McGRATH from West Lorne Ontario
1. 9 x Theft Over $5,000
2. 1 x Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
3. 1 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
4. 1 x Obliterated Vehicle Identification Number

• 41-year-old Pawel NOWICKI of Longwoods Road, Middlesex Centre ON
1. 4 x Possession of Property Over $5,000
2. 1 x Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence

• 66-year-old Jan NOWICKI from Highbury Ave. N., London ON
1. 2 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

• 26-year-old Terrence TEW from West Lorne Ontario
1. 1 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
2. 1 x Obliterated Vehicle Identification Number

• 49-year-old Sam KIRSHNER from Wardsville Ontario
1. 1 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
2. 1 x Fraud Over $5,000

All accused will appear in Middlesex County Provincial Court to answer to the charges.
