Suspect arrested in Oakville home invasion


On May 1st, 2017, Halton Regional Police investigated a report of a robbery at a residence in North Oakville. Subsequent investigation indicated that three suspects had forced their way into the home and demanded cash from a lone occupant. The occupant was threatened with a knife and punched several times by the suspects, however, he was not seriously injured.

The incident was deemed to be targeted, and public safety was not a concern at the time.

On May 24th, 2017, investigators from the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau arrested a 19-year-old male from Mississauga in relation to the incident. A search warrant was also executed at the suspect’s residence in Mississauga.

Howard WALTON, (19 years) of Mississauga is charged with the following offences.

• Break & Enter – Commit Robbery
• Utter Threat to Cause Bodily Harm
• Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order

WALTON was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton Court on May 25th, 2017.
