(CAMBRIDGE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD) is investigating after a traffic stop at a RIDE program led to a drug seizure and the arrest of two men in Waterloo.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 4th, 2017, officers from the Cambridge OPP detachment were conducting a RIDE program on the on-ramp to southbound Highway 85 from University Avenue in Waterloo. Officers stopped a motor vehicle with two male occupants after detecting an odour of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, the Cambridge OPP seized cash and a quantity of drugs including marijuana and cocaine. The Cambridge OPP charged Aleksander-Dragan IVAZ, a 24-year-old male from Kitchener, and Lazar TRICKOVIC, a 23-year-old male from Kitchener, with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana. The males will appear in Kitchener Court on June 9, 2017, to answer to the charges.
