A 28-year-old female faces numerous charges after fleeing from police on Wednesday night in Clarington.

On Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers from North Division were conducting speed enforcement and observed a vehicle driving northbound on Regional Road 57 at Regional Road 20, at a high rate of speed. The officers activated their emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop and the vehicle refused to stop. After a short pursuit, the suspect eventually stopped. Further investigation revealed a quantity of drugs inside the vehicle.

Jessica ABRAHAM, age 28, of Doncaster Crescent, in Clarington, is charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance x2 (Cocaine/Marihuana); Fail to Stop for Police; Drive Motor Vehicle – No Validation; Drive While Under Suspension and Speeding. She was later released on a promise to appear.
