47-year-old man who attempted to make contact with preteen girl faces charges

(Ottawa) – On Monday, June 12, 2017, the Ottawa Police Service received information that an Ottawa male had been attempting to make contact with a pre-teen girl by delivering inappropriate letters to her home. An investigation was conducted by the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit.

On Wednesday, June 21, 2017, Robert FILE, 47 years old, was charged with 3 counts of Harassment by repeated communication with a person, 1 count of Mischief and 1 count of Invitation to sexual touching of a person under the age of 16.

He first appeared in court yesterday.

Sexual Assault and Child Abuse investigators are concerned there may be other victims.
