Cyclist struck and killed on Hwy 7 east of Town of Perth


(DRUMMOND NORTH ELMSLEY TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a fatal collision on Highway 7 east of the Town of Perth.

Officers were called to the scene at 06:40 am on Wednesday 28th June 2017.

Initial investigation indicates that an east bound cyclist was struck by an east bound cube van. The cyclist sustained fatal injuries.

Diversions will be in place until further notice.

East and West traffic is being diverted on Dufferin Road north of the scene.

Road users in the immediate area are advised to slow down and be prepared for delays.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
