Fatal Collision in the Town of Acton

On Friday, June 30th, the Halton Regional Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Main Street South and Church Street East in the Town of Acton.

At approximately 2:10 AM, an SUV-style vehicle operated by a 43-year-old female resident of Rockwood was northbound on Main Street when she collided with a motor assisted bicycle operated by a 21-year-old male resident of Acton travelling westbound on Church Street.

The 21-year-old male was transported to Georgetown District Hospital but succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the collision.

Due to the fatality, the Collision Reconstruction Unit (C.R.U.) was called in and took carriage of the investigation.

Main Street South was closed for approximately four hours while the C.R.U. conducted their at-scene investigation.

Police will not be releasing the names of the involved persons at this time.
