Four charged in Fentanyl trafficking in Peterborough

Four persons have been arrested and charged following a drug investigation into the trafficking of Fentanyl patches in the City.

In the spring of 2017, the Peterborough Police Service received information regarding the trafficking of Fentanyl patches in the City of Peterborough.

The Service’s Intelligence, Crime Analyst, Asset Forfeiture and Drug (ICAD) Unit began an investigation.

Through the investigation, it was revealed that on several occasions the 37-year-old male accused attended a Peterborough pharmacy where he would trade-in fraudulent Fentanyl patches and receive genuine Fentanyl patches in exchange while a 36-year-old female waited outside the store.

On June 20, 2017 police arrested and charged four persons in connection with this investigation.

Following the arrests a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant was executed at the 37-year-old male’s residence on Marsdale Drive and at the 36-year-old female’s residence on Park Street North.

During the search warrants police seized items from both homes including Fentanyl patches and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation the following persons were arrested and charged:

Todd Edmund Kehoe, 37, of Marsdale Avenue is charged with the following:

  • Traffick in schedule I substance X2 (Fentanyl)
  • Cause or attempt to use a forged document X5
  • Possession of a schedule II substance (Marijuana under 30 grams)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (Canadian currency)

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on June 21, 2017.

Bridget Ann Bennewith, 36, of Park Street North, is charged with the following:

  • Traffick in schedule I substance (Fentanyl)
  • Cause or attempt to use a forged document
  • Possession of a schedule I substanceThe accused was held in custody and appeared in court on June 21, 2017.

Ryan Carl Gorton, 32, of County Road 45, Norwood, is charged with the following:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance (Fentanyl)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 13, 2017.

Brian Kent, 41, of Nornabell Avenue, Peterborough, is charged with the following:

Possession of a schedule I substance (Fentanyl)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 13, 2017.
