Kingston man charged with assaulting his toddler son


A 29-year-old local man is facing charges after police discovered two incidents of assault on his toddler.

On two separate dates in June 2017, the accused became angry with his toddler. On the first occasion, he used a belt and the second his hand to strike the child. The child suffered visible injury from the assaults and the incidents were reported to Family and Children Services.

On June 28, 2017, officers attended the family residence and arrested the accused. He was transported to police headquarters and held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with assault with a weapon and assault.
