Nova Scotia man returned to Kingston to face multiple sexual-related offences

A 64-year-old Nova Scotia man has been arrested and returned to Kingston to face multiple charges for historical sexual offences.

On June 4, 2017, Kingston Police received information in regards to historical sexual offences that occurred between July 2008 and November 2015. An investigation was conducted by the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit. Detectives learned the incidents occurred while the victim was under the age of 13 and living with the accused (step-grandfather).

The accused was found to be currently residing in Nova Scotia and an arrest warrant was issued. On June 26, 2017 the accused was located and arrested by the RCMP.

On June 28, 2017 Detectives from Kingston Police attended the Kentville Court in Nova Scotia and took custody of the accused. The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing.

The accused was charged with four counts of sexual-related offences.
