(WAWA, ON)On Tuesday June 13, 2017 members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East (Chapleau) Detachment along with members from the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant at a Chapleau residence.   

Police seized a quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine, cannabis marihuana, cannabis concentrate and Naloxone pills with a street value of approximately $ 1081. Also seized was $275 Canadian currency, two (2) firearms and two (2) digital scales.

 As a result of their investigation, two people have been arrested and charged.

Cameran J. PLOURDE, 27 years of age, of Chapleau, Ontario:

  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine  contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA (x 2 counts);
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the purpose of trafficking – under 3 kg contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA (x 2 counts);
  • Adult Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000- in Canada contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC; and with
  • Adult Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the CC (x 2 counts).

23 years of age woman, of Chapleau, Ontario:

  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA (x 2 counts) and with
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking-under 3kg contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA (x 2 counts).

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Chapleau, Ontario on August 14, 2017.
