OPP execute search warrant in Rainy River District; 2 alleged meth dealer charged

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On the 15th of June, 2017 members of the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB); North West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT); and with assistance from the Treaty Three Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence in Couchiching First Nation Territory in the Rainy River District. In executing the warrant a quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine and stolen property was seized.

As a result of the investigation a male and female identified as Jason KELLY (34-years old) and Misty PERREAULT (37-years old) of Couchiching First Nation Territory have been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance, methamphetamine, for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

KELLY and PERREAULT will appear in Fort Frances Criminal Court on August 29, 2017.
