Owen Sound man faces heroin trafficking charge


Shortly after 10:30 p.m on Tuesday, June 20th, 2017,  a 51-year-old Owen Sound man was arrested in the 300 block of 3rd Avenue East, for possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking, as a result of an ongoing investigation by the Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Drugs/Intelligence Unit.

While in custody, police located and seized a quantity of drugs that the accused had in his possession.

Police later executed a search warrant at the man’s residence in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue East, where they seized drug paraphernalia including burned tin foil with heroin residue, scales and a communication device.

2.1 grams of heroin and more than $900.00 cash has been seized during this investigation. 

The total street value of the heroin is $840.00.

The accused was held for a bail hearing on Wednesday June 21st, 2017.
