A 25-year-old Lakefield man and a 27-year-old Hastings man are facing drug charges as a result of an ongoing investigation.

The two men were arrested on June 15, 2017 in the area of Monaghan Road and Lansdowne Street by members of the Peterborough Police Service’s Intelligence, Crime Analyst, Asset Forfeiture and Drug (ICAD) Unit.

During the investigation police located a quantity of cocaine and cash on both males.

As a result of the investigation the following persons were arrested and charged:

Tony Morris, 25, of Coyle Crescent, Lakefield, is charged with the following:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a substance – Lorazepam
  • Proceeds of crime

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (June 16).

Benjamin Brackenridge, 27, of third line Hastings, is charged with the following:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Proceeds of crime

The accused was released from custody on a promise to appear in court on July 6, 2017.
