Peterborough Police make arrest in Monday night stabbing incident


A 52-year-old Peterborough man is charged with aggravated assault following a Monday night stabbing at an Aylmer Street residence.

On June 26, 2017, at approximately 7 p.m. the accused and the victim, who know each other, became involved in an argument at a multi-unit residence on Aylmer Street. During the altercation, the victim was stabbed with a knife.

Police and EMS were called and attended the scene. The victim, a man in his 40’s, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

As a result of the investigation Jeffrey Leon Dodds, 52, of Aylmer Street North, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (June 27).

Police remain at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
