Suspect Wanted in Whitby Library Thefts


Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect after two thefts at the Whitby library.

On Tuesday, April 9, 2017, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the suspect is seen in the library selecting several DVD’s and then using a stolen library card to check them out. This suspect is in the company of a young boy.

The suspect returns to the library on Sunday, May 28, 2017, and selects several DVD’s and uses another stolen library card and exits the library with the items.

The suspect is described as male, white, 5’7″ to 5’9″ tall, 25-30 years old, short dark hair and clean shaven. In the first theft, he was wearing baggy blue jeans, white runners, black ball cap, dark coloured hooded sweater, colourful backpack with blue straps and possibly a tattoo on his neck. 

During the second incident, the suspect is seen wearing; baggy white pants, white runners, black ball cap, dark coloured t-shirt, blue and black backpack with blue straps and possible tattoos on left wrist and left side of the neck.
