UPDATE: Body of 15-year-old Harley Broome recovered from Fenelon Falls



The victim, 15-year-old Harley BROOME of Fenelon Falls was recovered last night, June 17, 2017, at 8:18 pm by the OPP’s USRU. He was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased at 10:58 pm.

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) –  Today, June 10, 2017, at approximately 4:15 pm officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a suspected drowning in Fenelon Falls. The incident occurred on the Sturgeon Lakeside of the Fenelon Falls locks in an area known for its cliffs.

A 15-year-old male youth was swimming with friends and is currently unaccounted for. The OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) are assisting in the investigation.
