Wellington County OPP investigating 2 suspicious fires


(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – Today at approximately 8:15 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with fire crews from the Erin Fire Department responded to a structure fire on 3 Line, Erin. It was reported that an outbuilding was seen with smoke coming from its roof.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. OPP and Erin Fire Department responded to a fire on Wellington Road 125, south of Wellington Road 124. It was reported an uninhabited home was engulfed in flame.

Both buildings are believed to be vacant and there have been no injuries reported. Damages values have not been assessed at this time.

OPP and Erin Fire Department are currently investigating and have notified The Ontario Fire Marshall Office.

Both fires are being treated as suspicious.
