18-year-old victim identified, 17-year-old faces murder charge after Belle River altercation


(LAKESHORE, ON) – On July 13, 2017 at approximately 9:50 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an altercation between several combatants in the vicinity of Cooper Crescent and Lenore Street in the town of Belle River, Lakeshore, Ontario.

As a result of the altercation, an 18-year-old Windsor male was fatally injured while several others have sustained undetermined injuries. A 17-year-old Lakeshore male has been arrested in connection with this investigation.

A 17-year-old male and 14-year-old male from Windsor were also injured in the altercation.

As a result of the investigation, the deceased is identified as Marcus PIERCE, 18-years-old of Windsor.

The accused, a 17-year-old male from Lakeshore has been charged with the following:

  • Second degree murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code, and
  • Assault cause bodily harm x 2, contrary to section 267 of the Criminal Code.

The accused has been remanded to July 27, 2017 to set a court date for a Bail Hearing.
