ATV runs into motorcycle in Grey Highlands

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On July 4, 2017 at approximately 2:48 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), together with Grey County Paramedic Services (EMS) and the Grey Highlands Fire Department, responded to a collision between a 2008 Honda 420 ATV and a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle on Road 110 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The ATV was travelling northbound on OFSC Trail B110 when it entered the roadway and collided with the motorcycle which was travelling eastbound on Road 110.

The operator of the motorcycle, a 33-year old male from West Grey, was transported to a local hospital and then transferred to a London hospital with serious injuries to his arm.

The operator of the ATV, 62-year old Kirk SMITH of West Grey, was transported to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released. He was charged with Fail to Yield to Traffic on Through Highway under the Highway Traffic Act.
