Drunk driver passed out in Tim Hortons parking lot busted by paramedics

Your Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 36-year-old Orangeville man with Impaired Driving after police were contacted by Paramedics who were concerned for the well-being of an unresponsive male in a vehicle Sunday night.

On Sunday, July 23, 2017, at approximately 9:45p.m., police received a call from Dufferin Paramedic Services to assist them with a male who was unresponsive in a vehicle in the parking lot of Tim Hortons 95 First street location. The man was slumped over the steering wheel and the vehicles engine was running.
Police were eventually able to wake the man and remove him from the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, Joseph Allen Terrell, 36, of Orangeville, was arrested and charged with Having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol and Having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in 100 Millilitres of Blood.

The accused man’s driver’s licence was suspended for a mandatory 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 7 days. He is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on August 8, 2017 to answer to the allegations.
