On July 16th 2017 at approximately 9:15 pm, Niagara EMS members and police were dispatched to the area of Main St and Barker St in Niagara Falls due to reports of a male in medical distress.  Upon arrival, it became apparent that the male victim had sustained a serious (but not life threatening) injury as a result of being assaulted with a weapon.

The subsequent police investigation resulted in the arrest of a female, whose name can not be divulged given the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.  The female is being charged with Aggravated Assault and Breach of Recognizance.

Further, the investigation revealed that this was not a random incident, that the accused and the victim were known to one another.

The accused was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
