Four wanted after two separate stabbings in downtown Barrie


On Tuesday, July 25th, 2017 shortly after 7:00pm police received  two calls for stabbings within the same area of the downtown; the first being on Worsley Street and the second on Peel Street, in the City of Barrie. 

The first incident occurred when four (4) individuals, three (3) males and one (1) female, approached a male standing outside the Barrie Public Library located at 60 Worsley Street.  The group of suspects approached and ripped a backpack off the victim’s back, knocking him to the ground and assaulting him.  During the altercation he was stabbed in the back.  The 18-year-old Barrie male suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was airlifted to a GTA hospital for treatment.

The second incident occurred when a male speaking with friends at Berczy Park, located at 32 Peel Street, was approached by by three (3) individuals, two (2) males and one (1) female. One suspect confronted him in regards to stolen property and a physical altercation began.  The 19-year-old Barrie male suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries as a result of being kicked and stabbed in the head.  He was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Center and treated for his injuries before being released shortly thereafter.

Suspects #1 is described as:

• Male, white
• 5’9-11″ thin build
• Wearing red shoes, black track pants with white stripe, blue hoodie and light coloured ball cap

Suspect #2 is described as:

• Female, white
• 5’6″, 150-160 pounds
• Brown hair
• Wearing dark pants, white shoes, grey jacket and possibly carrying a blue backpack

Suspect #3 is described as:

• Male, white
• 5’9″ thin build
• Wearing blue track pants with white stripe, white shoes and blue jacket

Suspect #4 is described as:

• Male. white
• 5’10”
• Brown hair
• Wearing white shoes, red pants and dark multi coloured large sized tshirt

Detectives have not confirmed that these incidents involve the same parties however due to the close proximity of both incidents and the descriptors initially provided to police, the investigation  is leading detectives to believe the suspects are the same for both incidents. Further review of video surveillance will be completed to confirm further details.
