Hamilton man arrested for assaulting sex trade worker


On May 14, 2017 between the hours of 1:30-4:30 am an adult female victim engaged a male in conversation on Barton Street near Milton Street in Hamilton.

The victim and the male walked to an unknown location within that same area, where she was physically attacked and sexually assaulted by the man. She managed to walk back to the area of Barton Street and Birch Avenue where she flagged down two passing police officers. She was suffering from significant injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Members of the Hamilton Police Service, Sexual Assault Unit have continued to investigate this offence and have identified the male responsible.

On July 27th, 2017, the accused was arrested, charged and currently remains in custody. 

Charged:              Phillip Rene ALBERT – 28 yrs, Hamilton, Ontario
Charges:              Aggravated Sexual Assault, Fail to Comply Court Order
