Man arrested following intentional hit-and-run in Uxbridge

A male was arrested and charged after he fled the scene of a collision after intentionally striking a male victim in Uxbridge.

On Thursday, July 27, 2017, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members from North Division responded to Ravenshoe Road in Uxbridge for a fail to remain collision involving a pedestrian. A 55-year-old Uxbridge male, was struck by a vehicle driven by the suspect. The suspect fled the scene leaving the injured male with serious injuries. The victim was taken to a local hospital.

Investigators arrested the suspect shortly after the incident.

A 53-year-old male from Pefferlaw, is charged with: Assault with a Weapon; Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm; Fail to Remain Cause Bodily Harm and Aggravated Assault. The suspect also faces domestic related charges stemming from a historical sex assault. He also faces charges of: Sexual Assault with a Weapon; Criminal Harassment; Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Death Threats x4. The suspect was held for a bail hearing.
