(SEYMOUR TWP, ON) -On July 11, 2017, at 2:52 p.m. the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident that occurred at an 11th Line West property involving a 23-foot camper trailer that had collapsed on top of a male.
Trent Hills Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded prior to police and found that family members had already raised the trailer allowing them access to the injured man. Further cribbing was put in place by the Fire Department at which time he was removed and transported to a nearby hospital.
Police determined that the man was working on supports underneath the trailer when they suddenly became unstable and collapsed.
The 53-year-old local man succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
Investigators consider the incident not suspicious in nature and no foul play is suspected.
