Man wanted in Impersonating Law Enforcement and Car-jacking investigation

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance identifying a man wanted in an Impersonating Law Enforcement and Car-jacking investigation.

On Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for the theft of a vehicle in the Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East area.

It is reported that:

• a 91-year-old man was filling his car with gas
• he was approached by a man who indicated his tire was flat
• he offered to help him fill the tire
• he asked for his keys but the 91-year-old man refused
• the man lunged, and grabbed the car keys
• the man got in the car and fled, striking the 91-year-old man

He was last seen driving a grey 2009 4-door Hyundai Elantra licence 053 WCY. He is described as 40-45 years old, tall, with dark hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt and carrying a white plastic bag.
