(SOUTH PERTH, ON) – On Friday, July 14, 2017 at approximately 8:42 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) , Perth County Paramedic Services and the St. Marys Fire Department were dispatched to attend the train tracks located in the area of Perth Line 14 and Perth Road 125 in the Township of Perth South, with regard to a pedestrian being struck by a train.
Through the early stages of the OPP investigation, it has been discovered that a male, now deceased, was struck by a southbound VIA Rail train. The death is not being treated as suspicious and foul play is not suspected. Members of the Perth County OPP, Via Rail Police Service and the office of the Chief Coroner continue to investigate.
