OPP release name of Brantford man killed in St George Rd crash

(ST. GEORGE, ON.) – The Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate a single vehicle fatal collision on St. George Road in Brant County.

On Sunday, July 9, 2017 at approximately 6:39 a.m. police were called to the collision on St. George Road just north of Governors Road East. A Dodge pickup truck was travelling southbound on St. George Road when it left the roadway, rolled over and came to rest in east side ditch.

As a result of the collision, the lone adult male driver of the pickup was ejected from the vehicle. The male was transported to area hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS), where he was later pronounced deceased.

The deceased male driver has been identified as Gregory ASHWORTH, 54-years-of-age of Brantford, Ontario.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
