Oshawa man arrested after causing significant gas leak

Police identified and arrested a male after a gas line was damaged in Oshawa.

On Monday, July 24, 2017, at approximately 7:40 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to a significant gas leak on King Street West in Oshawa. The gas leak was at the rear of a residential building, and was quickly shut off with the assistance of Oshawa Fire Services.

Police investigated the damage which appeared to be deliberate and were able to identify a suspect.

The suspect fled the scene but was located and arrested without incident. There were no injuries as a result of the leak.

Randy HANNAH, age 35 of Simcoe Street South in Oshawa has been charged with: Mischief/Property Damage Endangering Life and Fail to Comply with Probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
