(PERTH EAST, ON) – On Saturday, July 29, 2017, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a suspicious person that had approached a child earlier that day in the Township of Perth East.
The investigation revealed that at approximately 4:30 p.m. an unknown male drove up to a young child who had been walking on Mill Street East in Milverton. The male driver asked the child if they wanted to go for a ride. The child refused and fled. The car then left going eastbound on Mill Street East.
This male is described as tan skinned with dark hair in a ponytail. He was wearing a black toque and a green long sleeve shirt. The car is described as dark coloured with a dent in the back door/trunk area.

The OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times and to be extremely vigilant when approached by unknown individuals. Parents and caregivers of young children should have a discussion with their child about “Stranger Safety” and what to do if confronted by a stranger.
