Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit- Sexual Assault Unit are seeking public assistance in identifying two suspects following a sexual assault that took place in the City of Vaughan.

On Saturday, July 29, 2017, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a woman was approached by two unknown male suspects while she was walking in a park in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive West and McNaughton Road.  The suspects approached the victim and grabbed her sexually and attempted to lead her into a wooded area.  The victim resisted and the suspects fled the area in an unknown direction.

SUSPECT 1:

• Male, Middle Eastern
• 18 to 19 years
• 5’7”, thin build
• Short black hair, olive skin and a small amount of facial hair
• Wearing blue jeans and a red shirt
• Spoke with an accent

SUSPECT 2:

• Male, Middle Eastern
• 18 to 19 years
• 5’7”, thin build
• Short black hair, olive skin and a small amount of facial hair
• Wearing blue jeans and a grey shirt
• Spoke with an accent

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police encourages victims to report incidents of sexual assault, including historical offences.  There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
