Shots fired at restaurant in Vaughan


Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking witnesses after shots were fired at a restaurant in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, July 11, 2017, shortly after 9:30 p.m., police were called to the Motorino restaurant, located at 4101 Rutherford Road, which is in the area of Rutherford Road west of Weston Road, for a report of gun shots being fired in the parking lot. When police arrived they were advised that a vehicle had fled the parking lot shortly after multiple shots were fired.

Investigators found that one bullet had struck a window of the restaurant but did not penetrate the glass. There were approximately 40 people inside of the restaurant at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured. Investigators also located a vehicle in the parking lot that appeared to have been struck by a bullet.

Investigators are asking any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident that have not yet spoken to police, or anyone that may have been driving in the area at the time with a dashcam, to please come forward.
