St Thomas pair caught stealing from garage in South Huron

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A police investigation that took place on Sunday, July 23, 2017 has led to criminal charges against two St. Thomas residents.

Just before 6:30 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence located on Mount Carmel Drive to assist the property owner with two strangers that were found on the owner’s property loading up items into a pickup truck.

The police investigation revealed a relative of the owner was driving by the residence when she spotted the couple loading various items into the bed of a pickup truck. Sensing something was amiss the witness promptly contacted the property owner and police were notified.

The witness was able to block in the suspect’s vehicle until police arrived. Police subsequently learned the couple had entered into the garage and were attempting to steal various pieces of furniture. The pair were placed under arrest and taken into custody without incident.

52-year-old Leslie George KNOTT & 44-year-old Jennifer BRADLEY both from St. Thomas have been charged with Break & Enter and Theft Under $5,000. They have been released from custody with court appearances scheduled for September 28, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter.
