A 36-year-old Corbyville woman was arrested after she was tracked down through the cell phone she had stolen.
On July 11, 2017 the complainant awoke in her residence to find that a house guest had left and stolen some of her clothing, cash, various personal, and her cell phone. A roommate was able to track the complainant’s phone to a coffee shop on Princess Street where the accused was found in her vehicle. After blocking her car in, police were called when witnesses observed what they thought was an altercation.
Police responded and the officer observed a large amount of loose clothing, duffel bags and purses in the accused vehicle. Some of the clothing was confirmed to be the property of the complainant and the cell phone was found during a search of the vehicle.
The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she later released with a future court date and conditions.
The accused was charged with theft under $5000, and possession of stolen property.
