(LAKESHORE, ON) – On July 26, 2017, at approximately 8:15 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lakeshore Fire Department and Essex Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 77 at the intersection of Lakeshore Road 310.
A tractor trailer unit carrying rolls of steel collided with a passenger vehicle, at the intersection.
The lone occupant driver of the tractor trailer was pronounced dead at the scene and the lone occupant driver of the white Chevrolet was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.
Highway 77 between Essex County Road 46 and Lakeshore Road 311 will remain closed until approximately 6:00 p.m. as the OPP’s Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) complete their investigation, the vehicles are removed and a severed hydro pole is replaced.
