Warrant of arrest issued in human trafficking investigation


Investigators from the Major Drugs and Vice Bureau have issued an arrest warrant for a male suspect in relation to a Human Trafficking investigation that occurred in the City of Mississauga. 

On Monday July 10, 2017, police responded to a call from a female victim reporting that she had been held against her will in a Mississauga hotel.  Further investigation determined that the male sexually assaulted her and was actively involved in human trafficking of the female victim.

The culprit profited from the victim’s acts and he exercised control over all aspects of her life.

Investigators have issued an arrest warrant for Rohan JONES, a 23 year-old male of no fixed address, for the following offences:

Administering Noxious Substance
Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
Sexual Assault with a Weapon
Sexual Assault
Trafficking in Persons
Receiving Benefit Resulting From Trafficking in Persons
Withholding or Destroying Documents for the Purposes of Trafficking in Persons
Advertising Sexual Services
Material Benefit from Sexual Services
Fail to Comply with Recognizance 

Rohan JONES is described as male black, 5’9” tall, 175 pounds with a medium build, and brown eyes.

Investigators believe that there may be additional victims and are appealing for any victims and witnesses to come forward with information.

Investigators believe that JONES is somewhere within the Greater Toronto Area.
