On Monday July 24, 2017 officers from our Traffic Enforcement Unit participated in a joint force initiative targeting Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement (CMV).

Windsor police officers partnered with the Ministry of Transportation to set up a temporary inspection centre in the 8700 block of McHugh Street.

Efforts were focused on educating drivers in relation to unsafe CMV’s and CMV’s not in compliance with Road Safety Regulations.

The one -day event rendered the following results:

19 CMV’s were inspected
12 CMV’s were taken out of service for safety violations
37 charges were laid

Joint force initiatives are a fantastic way to help keep our community safe, and we would like to thank the Ministry of Transportation for their participation in this effort.
