Woodbridge man drowns at Muskoka Beach Park


(GRAVENHURST) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a possible drowning at the Muskoka Beach Park on Muskoka Beach Road just before 5:00 p.m. today, Sunday July 30, 2017 after beach goers noticed a member of their group missing.

Police, the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) and Muskoka EMS responded and conducted a search.

The body of 28-year-old Shahid IQBAL of Woodbridge was located a short time later and unfortunately, lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful. He had been in the company of family at the time.
