On three separate occasions the accused was captured on video surveillance at the LCBO select an item off a shelf, attend the cashier desk and present the item as an old purchase with a receipt and received a refund. 

 On July 25, 2017 the accused attended the LCBO on Lynden Road and selected a bottle of scotch from the shelf. The accused went to checkout and then produced a receipt from a previous purchase and proceeded to return the bottle he had just selected off the shelf. 

 On July 29, 2017 the accused attended the LCBO and selected a bottle of rum from the shelf. The accused went to checkout and then produced a receipt from a previous purchase and proceeded to return the bottle he had just selected off the shelf. 

 On August 6, 2017 the accused attended the LCBO on Market Street South and selected a bottle of Vodka from the shelf. The accused went to checkout and then produced a receipt from a previous purchase and proceeded to return the bottle he had just selected off the shelf. The accused’s actions were later observed on video by staff at the store and police were contacted. A warrant was sought after for the arrest of the accused. On Wednesday August 23, 2017 at around 3:20 p.m. a Community Patrol Officer on routine patrol observed the accused walking on George Street. The accused was arrested without incident under the authority of the arrest warrant.

 Robert Keith HORTON, 44 years old of Brantford is charged with Fraud under $5,000.00 and Breach of Probation X6.

 The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
