On Tuesday, August 15, 2017 shortly after 2:00 p.m. a concerned citizen telephoned police to report a possible impaired driver and provided the vehicle and driver description.

A community Patrol Officer located the vehicle now parked in a lot on Edmondson Street (50-100 block).  The male was sitting in the driver’s seat and had his seat reclined. The accused displayed signs of impairment and was arrested for Impaired Driving- Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle. The accused was uncooperative with police and began kicking the interior of the police cruiser. The accused was transported to the Brantford Police Service where he refused to provide samples of his breath as required by law. Investigation also revealed that the accused is a disqualified driver due to a previous conviction of impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The accused is also on two separate driving suspensions after being charged with Care and Control while impaired in May of 2017 and a driver’s licence suspension for unpaid fines.

The accused, a 37 yr old Hagersville man is charged with:

Impaired Driving – Care and Control, Failure to Provide Breath Sample and Drive Motor Vehicle while Disqualified. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
