On Tuesday August 1, 2017 shortly after 3:30 p.m. a Traffic Officer attended a Motor Vehicle Collision near the intersection of Wayne Gretzky Parkway and Morton Avenue.

The officer assisted as information was exchanged and learned that one of the drivers was a suspended driver for unpaid fines. Further conversation and interaction with this driver continued where the male was observed displaying signs of impairment. The accused also passed out in the driver’s seat while the officer was investigating the collision. The driver advised that he had recently taken a prescription drug not prescribed to him.

The accused was arrested for Impaired Driving by Drug and transported to the Brantford Police Service. The accused, a 27 year old Brantford man, is charged with Impaired Driving by Drug under the Criminal Code of Canada and issued a Part Three Summons for Driving While under Suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused was released from custody with a future court date.
