A 51-year-old Oshawa man was arrested after being involved in a collision and attempting to flee the scene overnight in Clarington.
On Thursday, August 10, 2017, at approximately 2:20 a.m., officers from East Division responded to a collision at Highway 2 and Trulls Road in Clarington. Officers located a pick-up truck with extensive damage. The suspect vehicle while travelling westbound on Highway 2 near Trulls Road, left the roadway and struck several hydro poles on the south side of the road. The suspect attempted to leave and hit the north curb and was eventually located resting against a cement parking block on the south side of the roadway. A citizen prevented the driver from driving off and officers placed the driver under arrest.
There was extensive damage to property, however, the driver didn’t sustain any injuries.
Carey BRYANT, age 51, of King Street East in Oshawa is charged with Impaired Care and Control. He was released on an appearance notice.
